About Us

The Baylor Oral Health Foundation

Is A Non-profit Corporation Created In 1993, Chartered By The State Of Texas To Receive, Manage, Invest And Disburse Funds To The College .

The Foundation’s mission is to “provide the College of Dentistry with funds and support to sustain institutional preeminence through excellence in students, faculty, research and outreach”. It does this by managing and raising private dollars for a world-class faculty, leading edge research, academic programs and scholarships. Indeed, private support helps the College go beyond the limits of State funding to provide innovative and high quality programs for thousands of students and patients whose lives are touched by the College.

The Foundation accomplishes its management mission by providing asset management for endowment and quasi-endowment funds, which benefit the College; and managing agency funds for specific departments and divisions of the College in accordance with donor wishes.

The Internal Revenue Service recognizes the Baylor Oral Health Foundation as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Contributions to the Foundation by individuals, corporations, organizations and other Foundations are qualified for tax deduction.

Matt Zumbach, CFA, CAIA

President and Treasurer

Matt received his BA in Finance and Economics from Miami University, his Master of Accounting from the University of Michigan, and his Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University. He completed his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) certifications in 2011 and 2021, respectively.

Matt has over 20 years of experience in the financial and investment industry. He started his career as an Investment Banker and pivoted to an analyst position at a hedge fund focused on non-investment grade fixed income. In 2007 pursued a full-time MBA at the Kellogg School of Management. Upon completion of his MBA in 2009, he accepted a role as an analyst managing Aon’s $2.0B U.S. plan and serving as a corporate advisor for their $5.0B global pension plans. After 3-years, he became the CIO for Aon’s U.S. Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Plans, where he was integral in achieving returns in the top 5% of all pension plans, foundations, and endowments in Aon Hewitt’s consulting database. During his time at Aon, he focused on asset allocation strategy covering equities, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity, and internally managed derivative products.

After Aon, Matt took a role as the Treasurer of Alight Solutions, a Blackstone owned Private Equity portfolio company where he helped build their IPO model and served as the primary contact for Alight’s lenders. He also spent 5 years at Northern Trust advising institutional clients on their investment portfolios and authored thought leadership papers on glidepaths, derivatives, and impacts of capital market assumptions.

He has remained connected with the Kellogg School of Management and teaches a course on Equity Valuation as a guest lecturer every quarter for the Kellogg Asset Management Practicum.

Outside of work Matt enjoys spending time with his wife Sarah and his daughter Leila Joy. He is also an avid cyclist, and a competitive triathlete.
